Preowned 2016, excellent condition

The tone on this beauty is in the vain of the Harmony H44 but MUCH more refined. It would best be described as a Tele on steroids (if a Tele had neck-through construction). Richer in sound and not as strident as a T, the notes kind of spit out with a bit of a throaty bark to them. The Duncan Custom Shop pickups are loaded with character and quite wide range.

CRAIG'S POV

I always felt that the vintage Harmony H44 was one of the coolest and funkiest looking guitars on the planet. Infused with character and great tone, guitarists have gravitated to them and added their qualities to their arsenal. The problem I’ve experienced with the H44 is, other than cool tone and esthetics, they were virtually unplayable for the modern guitarist. HUGE necks, high action and weightiness are a few of the issues that stopped me from bonding with one. So, being the guitar nerd that I am, I enlisted the one builder I thought could make a Masterbuilt version of this iconic and rare beast of a guitar— Joe Yanuziello. Joe has built his reputation on his inspired and impeccably made renditions of similar era guitars. So after some friendly arm twisting Mr Yaz himself agreed to make me a custom version of the H44. Upon opening the case, all I can say is that I was totally blown away. Not only is it stunning and artfully done, but it is a true beast of a guitar. Masterfully built with all the refinements I requested, Joe just really outdid himself.

The tone on this beauty is in the vain of the Harmony H44 but MUCH more refined. I guess I would best describe it as a Tele on steroids (if a Tele had neck-through construction). Richer in sound and not as strident as a T, the notes kind of spit out with a bit of a throaty bark to them. I’m thrilled with the choice of Duncan Custom Shop pickups. They are loaded with character and quite wide range.

The playability is totally high end boutique. Great med/full C neck shape with a wonderful feel. It’s everything you’d expect from a Yaz as far as fit and finish are concerned. The ivoroid parts are all custom made, the Brazilian fretboard is exceptional, the copper nitro finish is just stellar; this guitar screams Yaz through and through.

In all honesty, it’s the kind of guitar that could translate itself in any genre with it’s own kind of voice. It’s individual but very relatable and quite inspiring to play. I really love it!

If you'd like to find out more about this item, just call or e-mail me. It would be my pleasure to talk to you about it.

ABOUT YANUZIELLO INSTRUMENTS
It certainly doesn't take a genius to realize that guitar builder Joseph Yanuziello is the real deal. What's "the real deal" you say? When it comes to luthiers, it means someone who has built a meaningful full-time career over a long period of time, developed the craft/art/voodoo of instrument building to the highest level, carved out their own niche in an overcrowded sea of brand names, you know, the real deal! There is something about a Yanuziello that is both plain-and-simple and somehow luxurious at the same time. In fact, Yanuziello's background in design and wood/metal fabrication has served him well in producing what he would describe as "modern vintage instruments." His interest in many musical genres is reflected in the different electric and acoustic instruments he produces. "The challenge is to keep it fresh and new and a continuous learning experience...the players have a lot to do with this." - JY
