The SS-15 is the newest member of the Sadowsky Archtop family.  The all acoustic brother of the Semi-Hollow, the SS-15 features the same body as the Semi, but is all acoustic with traditional jazz guitar appointments and styling.  The thin body provides a more immediate response than its bigger sibling, and has no sonic peer when amplified.  The 1 3/4 nut width and 14 frets to the body give the SS-15 a familiar comfort to any jazz guitarist.

CRAIG'S POV

The SS-15 model is a particular favorite of mine.  The body size is perfect for travel and the sound is sweet, clear and immediate.  Its neck shape is a medium C with the right amount of taper.  The 1 3/4" nut width and the 24 3/4" scale length were the perfect choices for this particular model.  As with all Sadowsky's, the fret work and setup are impeccable.  I always liked Roger's Sienna Sunburst, which makes an elegant statement here with the finish coming over the bindings. The top, back, and sides have a rich flame to them, which is appropriate for this type of instrument.  Sound-wise, well, it is right in the pocket!  It can go where a great vintage single pickup 175 can go, but with the added benefit of being more ergonomic and, I feel, more playable.  Bottom line - I'm glad to be able to offer these fine archtops to my fellow guitarists.

ABOUT SADOWSKY GUITARS
Mention the name Roger Sadowsky to your average guitar player, and you'll likely elicit a "Roger Who?" But that name is spoken in almost reverent tones amongst working musicians. Sadowsky has built this reputation by giving the modern guitarist and bassist what he needs--a no-nonsense, versatile, and reliable electric guitar that performs great and sounds better. Of course, these are claims made by every guitar company in existence; but Sadowsky Guitars is one of the very few companies that can actually back it up. Sadowsky Guitars is based in Long Island City, in Queens New York where founder Roger Sadowsky built the business from the ground up in 1979, after 7 years of guitar luthier training. Today, the Sadowsky company has around 10 employees and caters to guitarists such as; Walter Becker, Jim Hall, Chuck Loeb, Russell Malone, Jimmy Bruno, and Lee Ritenour.
