Preowned 2015, near mint

The wood choices here are what make this guitar sing. That chambered mahogany body gives it an organic warmth and resonance that you can feel when you hold it unplugged, and at just 5.7 pounds, it's uber lightweight without sacrificing any tone. But the mahogany neck also sets this guitar apart – where most S-style guitars lean on maple for that bright snap, Roger went with mahogany here, and it sweetens the character and heightens the instrument's warmth.

CRAIG'S POV

What immediately drew me to this particular Sadowsky is something you don't see very often from Roger – a straightforward two-humbucker configuration instead of his typical three-pickup S-style setup. There's something beautifully pure about this approach that really speaks to me.

The wood choices here are what make this guitar sing. That chambered mahogany body gives it an organic warmth and resonance that you can feel when you hold it unplugged, and at just 5.7 pounds, it's uber lightweight without sacrificing any tone. But it's the mahogany neck that really gets me – where most S-style guitars lean on maple for that bright snap, Roger went with mahogany here, and it sweetens the character and heightens the instrument's warmth. There's a woody, throaty quality that brings this guitar into SG or Les Paul Junior territory, which is exactly where my head goes when I play it.

The hardtail bridge is another element that adds to this guitar's vibe. There's something satisfying about that solid connection – the notes feel grounded and focused, which really compliments the woody character of all that mahogany.

The ebony fingerboard paired with that mahogany neck creates this nice balance of warmth and articulation. The 12" radius and 1 5/8" nut width feel comfortable, and those black-covered humbuckers deliver the punch and clarity you'd expect from Roger's work, but with a different flavor than his usual builds.

This 2015 guitar is in near mint condition and has a vibe that's appealing – it's got that vintage soul but with modern playability and reliability. The chambered construction adds an acoustic-like resonance that makes even clean tones feel lively and responsive.

It's one of those guitars that shows you why Roger's instruments have found their way into the hands of so many working players. There's character and soul here, and that quality that makes you want to keep playing.

If you'd like to find out more about this item, just call or e-mail me. It would be my pleasure to talk to you about it.

ABOUT SADOWSKY GUITARS
Mention the name Roger Sadowsky to your average guitar player, and you'll likely elicit a "Roger Who?" But that name is spoken in almost reverent tones amongst working musicians. Sadowsky has built this reputation by giving the modern guitarist and bassist what he needs--a no-nonsense, versatile, and reliable electric guitar that performs great and sounds better. Of course, these are claims made by every guitar company in existence; but Sadowsky Guitars is one of the very few companies that can actually back it up. Sadowsky Guitars is based in Long Island City, in Queens New York where founder Roger Sadowsky built the business from the ground up in 1979, after 7 years of guitar luthier training. Today, the Sadowsky company has around 10 employees and caters to guitarists such as; Walter Becker, Jim Hall, Chuck Loeb, Russell Malone, Jimmy Bruno, and Lee Ritenour.
