This preowned example was built in 2007, when Roger was using nitro finishes and is in  excellent-minus condition. It has had a fresh grind and polish to the frets. The Sienna burst is rich and warm with some hairline finish scratching and a few dings but nothing that breaks through to the wood. Setup with flat wounds this Bruno plays with a buttery smooth feel. All the gold parts are in excellent condition with just a bit of tarnishing to the pickup cover. A really nice example of a now discontinued model.

CRAIG'S POV

Being raised in Philadelphia, home of many great guitarists, you would be hard pressed to be in any jazz circles and not hear the name of guitar legend Jimmy Bruno. Jimmy and I are both contemporaries, and even when I was a teenager I'd hear comments like: " Craig you really sound good man, but you've got to check out Jimmy Bruno, he's unbelievable."

So what do you get when you take an amazing guitarist and match him with an amazing builder? An amazing guitar. The Sadowsky Bruno model to me is the perfect jazz guitar. It's smaller than a Jim Hall model, but the reduction in size doesn't mean the guitar suffers in acoustic tone in any way. It has a beautifully contoured neck, and with its 1 11/16" nut width, it's a very sleek feeling, modern take on a jazz guitar.

Continuing the modern theme, the body meets the neck at the 15th fret giving you easy access to the higher frets. It's something that you don't see often with jazz guitars. This guitar is a treat for the eyes, too. This is the first caramel burst Bruno I've seen. Caramel burst might now be my new favorite color for the model.

Bottom line is this: IMO you can't do better than a Sadowsky archtop anywhere close to the price. In fact, you can't beat Roger's impeccable eye for detail and playability at any price. Above all, you can feel the input of a great player on this instrument. Maybe that's why these guitars are very hard to find, with a long waiting list. This Bruno kills!

If you'd like to find out more about this item, just call or e-mail me. It would be my pleasure to talk to you about it.

ABOUT SADOWSKY GUITARS
Mention the name Roger Sadowsky to your average guitar player, and you'll likely elicit a "Roger Who?" But that name is spoken in almost reverent tones amongst working musicians. Sadowsky has built this reputation by giving the modern guitarist and bassist what he needs--a no-nonsense, versatile, and reliable electric guitar that performs great and sounds better. Of course, these are claims made by every guitar company in existence; but Sadowsky Guitars is one of the very few companies that can actually back it up. Sadowsky Guitars is based in Long Island City, in Queens New York where founder Roger Sadowsky built the business from the ground up in 1979, after 7 years of guitar luthier training. Today, the Sadowsky company has around 10 employees and caters to guitarists such as; Walter Becker, Jim Hall, Chuck Loeb, Russell Malone, Jimmy Bruno, and Lee Ritenour.
