Gretsch George Van Eps 7-String, 1976

George Van Eps was, by almost any measure, the most complete guitarist who ever lived. His orchestral conception of the instrument, weaving bass lines, inner voices, chord voicings, and melody into a single flowing statement, was so advanced that most players are still working out what he was doing. When Gretsch built this signature model with him, the seventh string wasn't a novelty. It was a direct response to Van Eps's harmonic world, adding a full bass register that simply doesn't exist on a standard guitar.

Finding a 1976 GVE in this condition is genuinely rare. Most guitars of this age have been played hard, repaired, or quietly modified along the way. This one hasn't. Near mint, all original, with the case and hang tags intact, it's the kind of survivor that serious collectors recognize immediately and don't walk away from.

The double Filter'Trons have that classic Gretsch warmth: thick, slightly compressed, with a woody clarity that sits naturally in any mix.
