CRAIG'S POV

From the moment I picked up this 2017 Gibson Memphis ES-335 in walnut finish, I knew it was something special. The guitar embodies the pinnacle of Memphis-era craftsmanship, coming from one of the final limited runs before the facility closed its doors.

What instantly impresses is that this instrument is acoustically responsive, even before amplification. The lightweight center block design balances perfectly with the warm walnut finish, creating an ES-335 that feels alive in your hands. Plugged in, the 57 Classic pickups deliver a Gibson voice that is quintessential, articulate, dynamic, and versatile enough to handle anything from jazz comping to rock leads with equal conviction.

The rounded "C" neck with rolled binding sits comfortably in the hand, while the titanium saddles in the ABR-1 bridge ensure precise intonation and enhanced sustain. Every component, from the premium electronics to the Kluson-style tuners, works together in perfect harmony.

This walnut 335 represents Memphis-era Gibson at its finest - distinctive aesthetics, superior playability, and that unmistakable ES tone that's been the backbone of countless recordings across musical genres. It's a remarkable instrument that will only become more sought after as time goes on.
