Sadowsky Portabag included
Roger Sadowsky hand-crafted Chuck's guitars throughout Chuck's illustrious musical career. The recent model was based on Sadowsky's Broadway line of electric guitars. A finely dialed-in chambered solid body, the Chuck Loeb model was the culmination of years of collaboration between these colleagues and close friends.
A little backstory - I was listening to some fantastic guitar jazz at a NYC jazz club in the mid-‘80s. John Scofield played in the band along with John Abercrombie, Mark Egan, and a young guitarist who blew my mind. This "new guy" played incredibly lyrical melodies that could not only weave in, out, and through the changes but he also seemed to have boundless technique and soaring fluidity. That he stood his ground with the two guitar legends would be an understatement. Chuck Loeb was a shining star. And a star that passed on too early.

Every detail of this model is well thought out, from the inspired custom wound humbuckers and switching system - I love the smooth jazz switch!- to the placement of the strap button. Of course, the fit, finish, and wood selection are top-tier; I wouldn't expect anything less from Roger's master craftsmanship and samurai-level quality control. I urge interested players to watch the accompanying video, where Roger and Chuck chat about the genesis of this model.

ABOUT SADOWSKY GUITARS
Mention the name Roger Sadowsky to your average guitar player, and you'll likely elicit a "Roger Who?" But that name is spoken in almost reverent tones amongst working musicians. Sadowsky has built this reputation by giving the modern guitarist and bassist what he needs--a no-nonsense, versatile, and reliable electric guitar that performs great and sounds better. Of course, these are claims made by every guitar company in existence; but Sadowsky Guitars is one of the very few companies that can actually back it up. Sadowsky Guitars is based in Long Island City, in Queens New York where founder Roger Sadowsky built the business from the ground up in 1979, after 7 years of guitar luthier training. Today, the Sadowsky company has around 10 employees and caters to guitarists such as; Walter Becker, Jim Hall, Chuck Loeb, Russell Malone, Jimmy Bruno, and Lee Ritenour.
