Preowned 2014

This is one wonderful guitar! It has a unique vibe, along with an exquisite bespoke build quality and an inspiring tonal palette. There is a quality to the tone that hints of James Olson's guitars and a big robust tone structure that reminds of a Gibson SJ200. Played softly with your fingers you can play through a roster of styles all with a deeply honest tone. Played with a pick you can do Doc Watson to Tommy Emanuel.

CRAIG'S POV

Condition: Straight out of a collection, this preowned 2014 McPherson is near mint and virtually unplayed.

I have an interesting relationship with acoustic guitars. Though I appreciate the classic vintage sounding guitars, I am always looking for something a bit more, something unique, something that I could saddle up my creative juices to and go for a musical ride. The search has taken me to many places and across many guitars. From pawn shop discoveries to the best boutique builders in the world. Some worked out and some didn't. But that search has taught me a great deal. Most of all, it taught me that inspiration comes in all shapes and sizes and to keep my mind, fingers and heart open to all 6 string possibilities.

Interestingly, I have never spent serious time with a McPherson. I've strummed a few at noisy crowded guitar shows but never really had the opportunity to truly get to play one until now. After going deep with this near mint 2014 Mahogany-Addy McPherson for a few days I have to say, I'm all in.

This is one wonderful guitar! It has that unique vibe that I look for, along with an exquisite bespoke build quality and an inspiring tonal palette. There is a quality to the tone that hints of James Olson's guitars and a big robust tone structure that reminds me of a Gibson SJ200. Played softly with your fingers you can play through a roster of styles all with a deeply honest tone. Played with a pick you can do Doc Watson to Tommy Emanuel. The neck profile is modern and comfortable with a hint a of soft V that adds a dash of vintage to the carve. Well done. Beautiful custom shop woods are used and the fit/finish is done to perfection.

Ok, I know that the sound hole is off to the side. A different look, yes but you will appreciate what it does for this guitar's sound - both to you as the player, and those lucky enough to hear you play it. I know I do!
