Mario Beauregard MB, 2010

Having Mario Beauregard visit us in 2023 was a pleasure. Having him drop off a stunning 2010 MB model at that time in a beautiful translucent black finish was an absolute treat. This guitar was refreshed by Mario himself in 2023; it's like a new guitar. The MB design is unique and gives the guitarist a wonderfully versatile instrument with all the woody resonance and build quality of an exemplary electric archtop in a highly comfortable and original body style.

Depending on how you string the guitar up, you can run the gamut from serious jazz guitar to blues or even fusion while never losing the essential acoustic quality of the instrument. The MB is one of those instruments that can transcend styles and draw the music out of you. Think of it as a super ergonomic single pickup L5 CES on steroids.

The build quality is of the absolute highest order, with all the craftsmanship and artistry found in Mario's archtops and flattops. Beauregard knows from years of experience how to bring out the mojo in a bespoke guitar. Lutherie is his passion, and it flows from his hands and heart. The neck is a beautifully carved medium-full C shape. The single humbucker is a perfect pickup choice for this MB - allowing its inherent voice to speak without muddiness. It simply sparkles.

Bottom line: This is one striking guitar. With its artfully carved rounded body, excellent tone, and build quality, it is a guitar of the highest order - one you can get lost in.
