Preowned 2019, mint

New in the shop from an impeccable collection of fine guitars comes what may be the only masterbuilt Jazzmaster in the world that sports an Antigua finish. The brilliant Ron Thorn built this one-of-a-kind minty masterbuilt Fender Jazzmaster. Fender never offered their unique Antigua finish on their classic offset models; this Jazzmaster was commissioned to fill that hole. Because of its unique details, it was a guitar only Ron could build.

CRAIG'S POV

New in the shop from an impeccable collection of fine guitars comes what may be the only masterbuilt Jazzmaster in the world that sports an Antigua finish. The brilliant Ron Thorn built this one-of-a-kind minty masterbuilt Fender Jazzmaster. Fender never offered their unique Antigua finish on their classic offset models; this Jazzmaster was commissioned to fill that hole. Because of its unique details, it was a guitar only Ron could build.

Here is what makes it so unique and special:

The Antigua finish is difficult to apply and get the shading just right. From what I understand, the finisher that sprayed or mixed the Antigua colors and shading is the original Antigua guy, one of Fender's longest-tenured employees.

The inlays were hand-cut by Ron Thorn, who took this guitar on as a personal mission. The rosewood for the fingerboard was sourced for color and grain to complement the Antigua finish. Ron even cut the nibs in the fingerboard binding to dial in that extra mojo. The pickups and covers were custom-made by Curtis Novack. And if that isn't enough, the custom pickguard was painted to match the body.

In addition to these details, it is a fantastic playing and sounding instrument; it's perhaps the best-sounding Jazzmaster I've ever played. It is a one-of-a-kind Fender built by a one-of-a-kind masterbuilder.
