Thorn SoCal Custom G/T - Preowned

A very cool guitar, this SoCal Custom GT is master luthier Ron Thorn's take on the classic T-style. It's previously owned, in like new condition, and is a great representation of Thorn's workmanship. They're difficult to obtain, but here's an opportunity to purchase a very desirable model at a reasonable price. Super cool looking and inspiring to play.

I found this to be one of the more versatile ways to suit up a T-style guitar. The 3 pickups give you all the sweet goodness of a strat set up but with more noiseless oomph. The mini hum in the neck position adds the life that I find sorely lacking in most traditional tele set ups. And of course
the Thorn '66 bridge pickup just rips. The well conceived electronic package includes a 5 way switch and push/pull tone control.

The neck profile is a medium C with rolled fret edges that are interestingly set into the neck itself, a feature that I've only seen on Teuffel guitars. Nicely done! Another personal touch is the inlay at the 12th fret. Again, very nicely done. Hats off to Ron Thorn for this really sweet guitar!
