incredible pale moon ebony construction

This guitar is very lightweight, more like the best rosewoods, and tonally it rings with the warmth and clarity of fine Brazilian. It can carry a note without any harsh tinniness when picked with a pick or plucked with a finger or nail. Remarkably, it has that arresting Somogyi low end richness on the bass notes while maintaining rich trebles. It's truly a powerhouse of tone; completely suited for any style of music.

Raymond Kraut's thoughts: "The first guitar to be completed in my new shop is this extraordinary pale moon ebony OM. Beyond just being stunning this guitar has the weight and tone of the best rosewood. In today's market, with all the CITIES restrictions, we need to be more aware of the tonal and legal benefits of alternative woods like this ebony. I find this wood to be the best of all worlds. It's lightweight, stiff and very responsive. On top of being an excellent tonewood it has the unique and one of a kind aesthetic distinguishing itself from any other kind of endangered wood."

CRAIG'S POV

Ray Kraut is one of the finest builders on the scene, and one of the most meticulous builders out there. Our new Raymond Kraut OMC has simply taken my breath away.

It's simply an astounding acoustic guitar, both visually and sonically. Every aspect of it is created to draw the player in. I love Ray's modern take on the headstock and rosette and how he incorporates this striking pale moon ebony at every turn. It's stunning to look at. But as much as it wants to be stared at and admired, it also wants to be held and strummed and be inspiring to you, the player.

This superlative OM is incredibly expressive, able to handle the lightest touch and yet be able to bloom when forcefully played. The first guitar to be completed in his new shop in Tucson, Arizona, is this extraordinary pale moon ebony OMC.

It's very lightweight, more like the best rosewoods, and tonally it rings with the warmth and clarity of fine Brazilian. It can carry a note without any harsh tinniness when picked with a pick or plucked with a finger or nail. Remarkably, it has that arresting Somogyi low end richness on the bass notes while maintaining those rich trebles that I like so much. It's truly a powerhouse of tone; completely suited for any style of music.

Playing it is pure pleasure. To me, one of its greatest benefits is the way he's shaped the neck. It's simply one of the best feeling necks I've ever played on an acoustic. Perfectly shaped and profiled with the modern player in mind.

This is truly a superlative guitar - one that I would without hesitation put alongside some of the finest acoustics I’ve ever experienced. Stunning looks, perfectly balanced sound and amazing playability. All here in one luscious flat top.

If you'd like to find out more about this item, just call or e-mail me. It would be my pleasure to talk to you about it.
